Description

These te reo printables will help you identify these classroom objects in te reo Māori. Also, they will help you to make a sentence in te reo and therefore extend your conversation. Available in te reo and English or te reo Māori only :-)

These te reo classroom label printables are simple te reo phrases. They are awesome for a number of reasons.

You and your learners can use not only the Māori word for the object, but also to put the word in a sentence.

These sentences are called classification sentences, or “he” sentences. They describe what someone or something is, or what qualities they have. They answer the questions “What is?” and “What are?”

  1. He + noun
  2. He + noun + subject phrase

You can see it’s not just about learning the objects, it’s putting the objects in a  sentence.

Firstly, they can obviously be used around your room to label items. Also, they can be used as question starters for activities.

“He aha tēnei?” “What’s this?”

They come with the question cards for-

What’s this? What’s that? (by you) What’s that over there?

Also, there are reply cards  to assist with the answer.

They have clear white backgrounds to help them “pop”.

You and your learners will enjoy using and learning with these.

They also match the other popular  Classroom Phrases and Classroom Timetable.
