Collaborative posters are FUN!
This simple lesson is an inclusive, fun, community building activity.
Each student is given one section of a large mosaic poster to colour in.
By looking carefully at their matching coloured piece your students practice blending and mixing colours as close as they can to the original.
Once all sheets are coloured and cut out they are then assembled by the students to reveal a large multi-colored mosaic/poster/mural, this one being two beautiful manaia.
By completing this activity, the learners are exemplifying the collaboration whakataukī:
“Ehara taku toa, he takitahi, he toa takitini”
Success is not the work of one, but the work of many.
If copied on A4 paper-final poster will be just under 1m square
or bigger-on A3 paper
Print and go!!
Students can work independently and require little input from the teacher.
